The Glenn L. Martin Aircraft Company incorporated in Cleveland, Ohio in 1917 and remained until 1929, when Martin moved the company to Essex, Maryland. In the summer of 1918, the Glenn L. Martin Company built the first locally-made plane at its St. Clair Avenue plant. The Glenn L. Martin Company developed the Martin MB Bomber.
